Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: August 31, 2026

This policy explains what information BaddEats collects when you use our DMV dining guides, how we use it, when it may be disclosed, and the choices available to you. It applies to this website and the features we operate through it.

Information we collect

Information you provide. We may receive your email address when you subscribe, the content and contact details you submit with a review or photograph, saved-place information you choose to store, and messages you send to us.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting and security providers may process IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, timestamps, and diagnostic logs. We may also use cookies or browser storage to remember preferences, saved places, and basic site settings.

Information from other sources. Restaurant information, public social posts, and other editorial research may come from restaurant websites, public records, publishers, creators, and other publicly available sources. This policy concerns information about site users, not our editorial research about restaurants.

How we use information

When information may be disclosed

We may provide limited information to vendors that host the site, store data, deliver email, provide maps, measure performance, or help prevent abuse. They may use it only to perform services for us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or rights, or as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the business.

Links to restaurant, reservation, ordering, map, social-media, and other third-party services are governed by those services’ own privacy policies.

Your privacy choices

Do not sell or share my personal information. BaddEats does not currently sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any opt-out mechanism required by law. You may still ask us to record an opt-out request by emailing privacy@baddeats.com.

You may unsubscribe through the link in a BaddEats email. You can also clear cookies or local storage through your browser. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to appeal a decision about a request. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Retention and security

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including legal, security, and recordkeeping needs. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

BaddEats is a general-audience dining site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as the site and its services evolve. We will post the updated version here and change the date above. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site or communicated through an appropriate channel.
